These Terms & Conditions govern all bookings made with Resilience Safaris, a licensed Tanzania tour operator based in Moshi, Kilimanjaro, for Kilimanjaro climbs, Tanzania safaris (including group joining safaris), and Zanzibar trips. By making a booking, depositing payment, or confirming a reservation with us whether through this website, WhatsApp, email, or in person you agree to be bound by the terms set out below. Please read them carefully before booking.
Booking & Confirmation
A booking is considered provisional until Resilience Safaris has received the required deposit and issued written confirmation (by email or WhatsApp). Provisional bookings are held for a maximum of 48 hours before the reserved space may be released to other guests.
For group joining safaris, confirmation of your specific departure date is subject to a minimum of two confirmed joining guests. If the minimum is not reached by 14 days before departure, we will offer you the choice of: joining an alternative date, upgrading to a private vehicle at the private-vehicle rate, or a full refund of monies paid.
All information provided at booking full name as it appears on your passport, date of birth, nationality, and any medical or dietary requirements must be accurate. Resilience Safaris is not liable for delays, denied entry, or additional costs arising from incorrect information supplied by the client.
Payment Terms
A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm any booking. The balance is due according to the schedule below, unless otherwise agreed in writing at the time of booking.
| Booking type | Deposit required | Balance due |
|---|---|---|
| Day trips & single-day safaris | No deposit — pay on arrival or full payment at booking | N/A |
| Group joining safaris (multi-day) | 30% of total cost | 30 days before departure |
| Private safaris | 30% of total cost | 30 days before departure |
| Kilimanjaro climbs | 30% of total cost | 45 days before departure |
| Bookings made within 30 days of departure | Full payment required at booking | N/A |
Accepted payment methods include bank transfer, major credit and debit cards (subject to a processing fee), and mobile money transfer (M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money) for guests already in Tanzania. All prices quoted on this website are in US Dollars (USD) unless stated otherwise. Resilience Safaris reserves the right to correct any pricing error and will notify affected guests before processing payment.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellations must be submitted in writing (email or WhatsApp) and are effective from the date we acknowledge receipt. The following scale applies to the total booking cost, calculated from the date of acknowledged cancellation to the scheduled departure date:
| Time before departure | Cancellation charge |
|---|---|
| 45+ days | Loss of deposit only |
| 30–44 days | 50% of total cost |
| 15–29 days | 75% of total cost |
| 0–14 days / no-show | 100% of total cost |
We strongly recommend that all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, trip interruption, and medical evacuation, as Resilience Safaris cannot offer refunds beyond the scale above regardless of the reason for cancellation (including illness, injury, visa refusal, or changes in personal circumstances).
If Resilience Safaris cancels a confirmed booking for reasons within our control (such as failure to meet the minimum group size where no alternative was accepted by the client), a full refund of monies paid will be issued. We are not responsible for cancellations arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control — see Section 7, Force Majeure.
Itinerary Changes & Substitutions
Tanzania's national parks, weather conditions, and road access can change with little notice. Resilience Safaris reserves the right to alter routes, game drive timing, accommodation, or the order of activities described in any itinerary where necessary for guest safety, park regulations, vehicle availability, or circumstances beyond our control. We will always aim to deliver an equivalent or better experience and will inform guests of material changes as soon as reasonably possible.
Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed on any safari. References on this website to specific animals, herd sizes, or sighting probabilities (for example, elephant sightings at Tarangire or flamingo numbers at Lake Natron) are based on historical patterns and guide experience, not a guarantee of what any individual guest will see on a specific date.
For accommodation, where a specific lodge or camp named in your confirmed itinerary becomes unavailable, we will substitute a property of equivalent or higher standard at no additional cost to the guest.
Health, Fitness & Travel Requirements
Guests are responsible for ensuring they meet the health and fitness requirements for their chosen trip. Kilimanjaro climbs in particular carry real risks associated with high altitude, including altitude sickness, and require a reasonable baseline level of fitness. Guests should consult a doctor before booking a Kilimanjaro climb if they have any pre-existing medical conditions, and must disclose relevant conditions to their guide before departure.
Travel insurance is mandatory for all Kilimanjaro climbs and strongly recommended for all safaris and Zanzibar trips. Insurance must cover emergency medical treatment, helicopter or vehicle evacuation, and trip cancellation. Resilience Safaris can request proof of insurance before departure and may decline to proceed with a climb where this is not provided.
Guests are responsible for arranging and validating their own Tanzania tourist visa, any required vaccinations (including yellow fever certification where applicable for onward travel), and ensuring their passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond their travel dates. Resilience Safaris is not liable for any guest being denied entry to Tanzania or any connecting country due to incomplete travel documentation.
Liability
Resilience Safaris acts as the organiser and operator of the trips described on this website and takes all reasonable care in selecting accommodation, vehicles, and guides. However, safaris, mountain climbs, and travel in Tanzania involve inherent risks, including but not limited to wildlife encounters, altitude-related illness, road conditions, and weather. By booking with us, guests acknowledge and accept these inherent risks.
Resilience Safaris' liability is limited to the direct cost of the services we have contracted to provide. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including but not limited to missed flights, lost earnings, or the cost of alternative travel arrangements, except where such liability cannot be excluded under Tanzanian law.
Resilience Safaris is not liable for the acts, omissions, or negligence of independent third parties not under our direct control, including airlines, immigration authorities, national park authorities, or other transport providers, except where we have failed to exercise reasonable care in selecting them.
Force Majeure
Resilience Safaris shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control. This includes, without limitation, natural disasters, extreme weather, fire, epidemic or pandemic, government action or travel restrictions, park closures, civil unrest, strikes, or failure of public infrastructure.
Where a trip is cancelled or significantly altered due to a force majeure event, we will work with affected guests in good faith to offer rescheduling where possible. Refunds in force majeure circumstances will be made net of any costs already incurred or non-recoverable from third-party suppliers (such as park fees already paid or non-refundable accommodation deposits).
Guest Conduct & Park Regulations
All guests are required to follow the instructions of their guide and the regulations of any national park or conservation area visited, including those relating to wildlife distance, vehicle conduct, and protected site access. Resilience Safaris reserves the right to end a trip without refund where a guest's conduct endangers themselves, other guests, staff, or wildlife, or breaches park or conservation area rules.
- Guests must not approach, feed, or attempt to touch wildlife at any time.
- Drone use within Tanzania's national parks requires prior written permission from TANAPA and is the guest's sole responsibility to arrange.
- Alcohol consumption is the guest's own responsibility; guides reserve the right to refuse to continue a game drive or climb where a guest's condition poses a safety risk.
Pricing & Park Fee Changes
Prices quoted at the time of booking are based on park entry fees, conservation fees, and government taxes in effect on that date. Tanzanian park authorities (including TANAPA and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority) periodically revise fees, sometimes with limited notice. Where such a revision occurs after a booking is confirmed but before the trip departs, Resilience Safaris reserves the right to pass through the increase at cost. We will always notify guests of any such adjustment before charging it.
Photography & Marketing Use
Photographs or video footage taken by Resilience Safaris staff or guides during a trip may occasionally be used for marketing purposes (website, social media, brochures) unless a guest specifically requests in writing, prior to or during their trip, that their image not be used. Guests' personal photographs and devices remain entirely their own property at all times.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any dispute arising from a booking with Resilience Safaris will first be addressed through good-faith direct negotiation between the guest and our team. Where a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tanzania.
We genuinely want every trip to go well and most concerns are resolved quickly through direct conversation with our team — please contact us first via WhatsApp or email before escalating any concern.
Changes to These Terms
Resilience Safaris may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our operations, park regulations, or applicable law. The version in effect on the date a guest's deposit is received is the version that governs that booking. We encourage guests to review this page before finalizing any booking.
These Terms & Conditions were last reviewed and updated on June 1, 2026.
